Planning for a National "_" Day

If you are an educator of any sort, then you are familiar with the many random and odd National days.  These can be a super fun way to spice up a week, or month depending on what you're celebrating.  Sometimes those national days even sneak up at the perfect time and help your kids get through their poetry lesson with a little more umph!

Last year I discovered Help Teaching and their wonderful educator calendars!! Now I print them off and plan a few things around our chosen days. Even today, it's National Talk Like a Pirate Day!!! I didn't even know that. If you did, then you either dressed up like a pirate or had a stack of books ready to read!!

Just to give you guys a head's up, next week we celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day! I already have a stack of books, Apples to Apples, and some tasty treats planned!

What would your favorite National Holiday to celebrate be, and why??
